Vacation Destination Clearwater Beach, FL
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page” -St. Augustine
My Husband and I decided to take a mini vacation for the first time without the kiddos since…. ever! Well our first trip alone together since our honeymoon. I was a little nervous to be away from the boys so we wanted to pick somewhere that was no longer than a 3 hour flight away, and somewhere warm with palm trees and a beautiful beach, so with a few recommendations from family and close friends we landed in Sunny Clearwater Beach, FL. When driving into the area I could not believe how white the sand was and how blue the water was, it was literally like being on a tropical island, it was sooo beautiful. We arrived at our hotel, The Wyndham Grand, which is a newer resort, very nice, upscale and modern. We told them about the reason for our trip and they welcomed us with a bottle of champagne (which worked well for mimosas yum!) The room was beautiful, clean, offered a king size bed and balcony overlooking the pool with views on one side of the bay and the other side of the beach and ocean. It was the perfect spot to relax. What we loved best about this resort was the location. We literally did not even need a car at all, we could walk EVERYWHERE. It was perfect.
Our first night we checked out this cool rooftop bar/restaurant called Marina Cantina. They have a great vibe, firepits on the outside deck and a great view. It was pretty windy and chilly so the firepits were a must and also why I wore a sweater. This super cute cable crop sweater was my go to for warmth this whole trip because it was super cool at night. I’ve also linked a similar faux leather skirt here and here and my favorite Vans that I wore almost everyday. (you’ll see way more of them to come lol)
Food and drinks here were good, and the people were super friendly and accommodating. It was really busy and packed, and on super warm nights I’m sure it’s a super hot spot to be.
Our favorite breakfast hot spot which we found out about the second day thanks to a recommendation from valet at our hotel, was this place called Clear Sky Café. This place was AMAZING! If you don’t get there early enough the wait might be a little long, but it is WELL worth it TRUST. We ate here for breakfast 3 days in a row. The fresh fruit crepes were my fave and their mimosas on POINT! SO DELISH. You must check them out!
On the coolest day we headed down to Sarasota and Siesta Key. We checked out the Ringling Mansion but didn’t get to tour the whole place. The best part of this trip hands down was this little restaurant called Siesta Key Oyster Bar. This place was soooo packed, the food and drinks were amaaaaazzzing and the service was great. The people were very nice and we got to listen to a live band while dining on the patio. Great, fun vibes here. Highly recommend. I loved my outfit this day too, I got a ton of compliments from random strangers (that’s when ya know ya look real good haha). I linked my top, pants, shoes, headwrap and jacket (similar).
We had one good beach day where we laid out for maybe 2-3 hours and caught a little burn. The beach right near our hotel had these little cabanas and chairs with umbrellas that you could rent for the day which was really nice. I wore this Leith dress a ton when it got cool out, so easy to just throw on over your suit and it can be dressed up or down. Linked my head wrap too. I couldn’t find my exact suit online so I’ve linked some similar and super cute ones here, here and here.
On our last night I honestly felt so relaxed and refreshed. This trip was a perfect small getaway for my husband and I. We walked through the downtown, had a nice dinner, watched the sunset on the beach and got ready to head home to our boys early the next morning. This jumpsuit was another favorite outfit I got to wear. I had been in search of one for a long time and I was so psyched to have found this one at tjmaxx right before we left for our trip. I couldn’t find the exact one online so I linked some other super cute options here, here, here and here and here, hey a girls gotta have options right? 😉
I would definitely visit Clearwater Beach, FL again. But I think next time we would like to see more of Siesta Key and Sarasota. We had so much fun. Can’t wait for the next trip.
